Everything I Wore (And Wanted To Buy) in Paris
No place lights me up quite like Paris - even when I’m coming off a very fun trip to London + wedding in the Cotswolds, a little under the weather, and a little sleep-deprived….Maybe Paris is the cure?
This past week was the perfect mix of freedom, inspiring meetings, and just the right amount of wandering. The weather caught me off guard (post-heatwave it got QUITE chilly), but it warmed up just in time for the last two days!
I always seem to stumble upon the most special finds here. Lately, I’ve been trying to shop with a more mindful eye—practical investments over impulsive splurges—and I think I showed some restraint this trip… except for one very exciting purchase: my first Chanel bag (!!) and a vintage Hermes Kelly Padlock Watch. For my paid subscribers, I will be updating my Paris guide on Sunday with the new places I discovered this week.
I spent part of my stay at Fouquet’s, which I’d highly recommend if you want to be near the Champs-Élysées area. The rooms are huge (rare for Paris) and the room service scrambled eggs? I already miss them.
Day 1
I wasn’t feeling my best and just wanted to be comfortable, so I reached for a Tomboy Chic outfit formula: these butter-yellow silk shorts, a striped top (when in France, a necessity), a navy sweater tossed over my shoulders, my red velvet shoes, and red bag. Easy, playful, and a little vintage-inspired.
Day 2
It was still a little chilly, so I reached for my favorite party shorts, that same blue sweater to ground the shorts with, and quite possibly the best white tank I’ve ever worn. When I say I like to play with masculine and feminine contrasts in my outfits, this is exactly what I’m referring to: oversized and tailored up top, and sheer and flirty on the bottom. The sneakers I wore are sold out, but I found a similar pair for way less 💸
Day 3
The sun was finally out!! I had to stop for a photo in front of my favorite sandwich shop, obviously: I wore a striped tank with a long lace skirt and my red velvet shoes. Half boyish and nautical, half ethereal and romantic. This Bottega bag is my best travel companion and my Mary Poppins bag, fits everything! These are my favorite sunglasses that I reached for daily.
Day 4
I’ve fully embraced the see-through summer—and maybe taken it a little too far, but honestly, I don’t care. Wore this gorgeous white linen and lace dress and paired it with my new favorite sneakers: suede and nylon and just the right amount of sporty.
Day 5
Tomboy Chic strikes again! I went with cotton and lace bermuda shorts, a dainty short-sleeve lace top I’ve worn on repeat all summer, and finished it off with red patent ballet flats.
Airport Look
These striped pants and white tee have been the MVPs of the trip—on repeat, effortless, and exactly what I want to wear. I threw them on with my new sneakers and called it a day. This Rimowa trunk is my favorite and necessary travel accessory. Here is a more affordable option as well in the same color!
